Director and Consulting Actuary

Grant obtained the degree of Bachelor of Business Science from the University of Cape Town in 2005. He went on to complete his actuarial studies, being admitted as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in 2013 and as a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa in 2015.

He started his career in 2006 at Alexander Forbes Financial Services in the United Kingdom in the actuarial department, providing actuarial valuation and consulting services to retirement funds and companies. In 2007, he left Alexander Forbes to join WTW UK (then Towers Perrin). In 2013, he transferred within WTW, from the UK returning home to South Africa.  Whilst working for WTW SA, Grant was involved in advising pension funds and companies both locally and in other African countries. Grant left WTW on 30 September 2022 to join Keystone Actuarial Solutions.

For over 16 years, he has been involved in the provision of actuarial valuation and consulting services to retirement funds, both locally in South Africa and overseas. He is approved as a valuator by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority and holds a practicing certificate from the Actuarial Society of South Africa and also has significant experience in preparing reporting for companies under various accounting standards (including International Accounting Standard 19). 

Grant’s professional interests lie in providing sound advice and guidance, enabling boards to assist their members in achieving positive outcomes.
